I visited the new location on Saturday evening and there was already a line to wait to get a table. It was great to finally visit the new location. Ironically they have more tables, and they are a bit short staffed, but they made it work! We got a table after waiting about 15 minutes and we opted for the Haemul Pajeaon (Seafood pancake) and Gochueuno Jorim (Spicy Makerel Soup). We got our side dishes and "purple rice" (white rice with beans - healthier option). To be honest we couldn't even finish both dishes because there was so much food. We really enjoyed the freshness and they did let us know that the stew would be a bit of a wait since they were making it. They do have plenty of alcoholic options, sodas, and water is bottled water. They state they do not have hot water to drink just so you know, but it was no big deal to us. Since they were short staffed, they weren't too attentive, but I was content with the meal we had and of course understanding since the quality and portions of the food were exceptional.

I used to hit up their old spot, but man, 'New to Sok Jib' is a whole new level! It's super modern and way roomier. I went for the lunch special, the 'Joki Gui & Jjigae' for just 13.99 bucks, and let me tell you, it was FLIPPING AMAZING! The fish was crispy and fatty in all the right ways, and that soybean soup? Tasted like perfection with the fish. Our server was a speed demon, always bringing more tiny side dishes because we scarfed everything down so fast, haha! I can't remember the fish ever being this good. This place is gonna see a lot more of me. A perfect 100/100!!

To sok jip is back! Away from the demolished old hut and into a new larger space in the strip center next door. The space is new and clean, and the menu prices certainly reflect the need to make returns. Everything has gone up including being charged $2 for rice! Yet, food quantity has gone down. The jun sits awkwardly small in the large plate it used to fill, bossam looks 1/4-1/3 less than before. Food is still delicious and service is much better than previously. But these prices+ quantities!

This was our go to Korean spot before the restaurants original location closed down. The food still tastes the exact same, soooooooo good. The portions are super generous as always and the banchan selection is so extensive. The hameul pajeon is crispy and ginormous, and the soybean puree stew is thick with my favorite doenjang flavor. It was also my first time trying their samgyetang and it was also really good: very light but also super meaty and healthy feeling. The only reason it is 4 stars rather than 5 is because I think they would benefit from hiring a few more people to help out in the front. Our food took a long time to be served and I think other tables had the same problem. Obviously, understandable since they just opened. Overall, this is one of my favorite korean spots in NOVA!
